HIGHLIGHTS OF SEPTEMBER 20^th BOARD MEETING:

► Agreed to solicit bids for member/mentor and board liability policies.

► Reviewed and agreed on the substance of draft policy and procedures, governing criminal background investigation of prospective and active members.

► Established Technology Committee, concurred in president’s appointment of Joseph Thompson jthompson@thompsonmerchant.com as Committee Chair, and authorized Committee to proceed with development of proposed Chapter web site.

► Established Public Relations Committee, concurred in president’s appointment of Ken Boler as Committee Chair, and endorsed proposed monthly Chapter Newsletter to be published in the Savannah Morning News.

► Established Strategic Planning Committee and concurred in president’s appointment of Louis Fair L112835@aol.com as Committee Chair

► Appointed David Sneed, Esquire, dsneed@huntermaclean.com general counsel and concurred in president’s appointment of David Sneed as Chair of the Bylaws Committee.

► Established December 31, 2007 as deadline for payment of 2008 membership dues; payments received after that date are subject to late payment fee.

► Appointed Louis Fair delegate to 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Annual Fall Leadership Conference, Washington, DC., September 26th to 29th.

► Agreed to encourage members to attend Jacksonville 100 Scholarship Award Banquet in Jacksonville, FL, Saturday, October 13^th. Tickets $35.00 per person, payable to 100 BMOS by no later than October 7^th. (Several Board members committed to attend the event.)

Ken Boler, Chair of our Public Relations Committee notes that the forthcoming publication of the 100 BMOS’ monthly newsletter in the Savannah Morning News will bring our face, vision, and programs to 150,000 readers each month. It should have an instant impact on our visibility, growth, and sponsorship.
